The poem moved the thousands present—including the presiding British magistrate Ishani—to tears.

As a result, Meghani was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in Sabarmati Jail for his passionate advocacy of Indian independence. This event remains a unique and historic moment in India’s freedom struggle, showcasing the power of poetry as a revolutionary force.

Event Organizers

Authored by:

Pinaki Nanakbhai Meghani

Founder, Zaverchand Meghani Smriti Sansthan

Date: Sunday, March 9, 2025

Time: 5:00 PM

Venue: Shauryabhumi, Dhandhuka (Dist.
