All participating trainees completed 40 hours of IT literacy training, marking a pivotal step in digital empowerment. For 90% of the trainees, this was their first-ever exposure to digital education, upskilling them for a future-ready workforce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking on the achievement, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya \u2013 CEO, Vedanta Alumina Business, said,<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cAt Vedanta, we view community development as a strategic imperative for sustainable growth. They bridge the gap between rural potential and mainstream opportunities. Vedanta\u2019s efforts in creating sustainable livelihood pathways for local youth are truly commendable. We look forward to deepening this partnership to drive holistic, grassroots-led development across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following a comprehensive skilling framework, Vedanta Lanjigarh Skill Training initiative in collaboration with Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) and NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture &amp; Rural Development), aims to train more than 1200 rural youth over the course of three years, using a two-pronged approach\u2013offering training as well as entrepreneurial and employment avenues. So far, 701 youth have already been trained under this initiative, marking a significant milestone in its journey. By helping them secure stable livelihoods, these placements have significantly augmented the family incomes, integrating the youth into the socio-economic mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>Vedanta\u2019s skill training initiative is strategically aligned with the United Nations\u2019 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 1 \u2013 \u201cNo Poverty\u201d and SDG 8 \u2013 \u201cDecent Work and Economic Growth.\u201d It also resonates with the national vision of Viksit Bharat, bolstering rural employability and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p>Vedanta Aluminium, a business of Vedanta Limited, is India\u2019s largest producer of aluminium, manufacturing more than half of India\u2019s aluminium, i.e., 2.42 million tonnes in FY25.
