Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 26: <\/strong>The 5th Edition of the YathaKatha Film & Literature Festival<\/strong> will be held from September 28 to October 1, 2026<\/strong>, bringing together leading voices from cinema, literature and the arts for four days of storytelling and cultural conversations.<\/p>\n

The festival will be hosted in collaboration with SVKM\u2019s Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai<\/strong>, and will feature film screenings, panels, literary sessions, workshops, masterclasses, a book launch, awards and cultural performances.<\/p>\n

The festival will feature a special cross-cultural conversation, \u201cA Shared Language: In Conversation with Brazilian Filmmaker Clara Clarice,\u201d<\/strong> exploring cross-cultural storytelling and the ability of cinema to create connections across languages, cultures and borders.<\/p>\n

The literary programme will also feature the launch of The Last Bargain<\/em> by Nikhlesh Mathur<\/strong>, an author, chemical engineer, corporate Vice President and astrologer, whose diverse professional and creative experiences inform his approach to storytelling.<\/p>\n

The festival\u2019s highlighted programme will feature a diverse line-up, including a Vertical Drama Workshop<\/strong>, Poetry Workshop<\/strong>, Masterclass on AI Filmmaking<\/strong>, and a special masterclass, \u201cLearning to See Otherwise: How Russian Literature Can Train the Thinking Filmmaker,\u201d<\/strong> offering a unique perspective on literature, observation and visual storytelling.<\/p>\n

The festival will also feature an exclusive conversation with filmmaker Rahul Rawail<\/strong>, \u201cLaunching Stars Down The Ages<\/strong> and \u201cBeyond The Words:<\/strong> a conversation with Sanjay Masoom<\/strong> on how dialogue and lyrics shape characters, stories & cinema. The programme will also include prominent sessions such as \u201cWhen Actors Tell Stories,\u201d \u201cLoss of Words: The Fading Beauty of Lyrical Storytelling,\u201d \u201cThe Art of Acting,\u201d \u201cWriters\u2019 Rooms for OTT Web Series: Hitchhiker\u2019s Guide,\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cLiterature & Films: A Creative Bond,\u201d<\/strong> along with a special panel on Marathi cinema and literature<\/strong> in association with the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Indian-American author, traveller, polyglot and literary curator Kiran Bhat<\/strong> has curated a distinctive literary programme for YathaKatha Edition 5, featuring \u201cPride, Identity & Belonging: A Conversation with India\u2019s Leading LGBTQIA+ Activists,\u201d \u201cThe New Feminist,\u201d \u201cThe Bombay Poetry Crawl,\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cMyth Is Not Mithya,\u201d<\/strong> along with a dedicated Poetry Workshop \u2013 Shifting Frames: Poetry for Change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
