Amazon InCommunities Impact in Hyderabad

Amazon InCommunities has built deep, long-term partnerships with communities in Rangareddy district through a distinctive approach that addresses the most pressing local needs. Rather than implementing isolated projects, the program works across four interconnected pillars—STEM Education, Local Skills Development, Sustainability, and Hyperlocal Social Impact—creating a comprehensive ecosystem of support that transforms entire communities. This strategic approach has enabled community development, directly addressing concerns about livelihood, water scarcity, educational gaps, green spaces and infrastructure deficits. The impact of this sustained engagement is visible across the region. Over 40,000 people in Rangareddy, Telangana have benefited from initiatives that include robotics and AI education for 3000 + students through Amazon Think Big Spaces, a Data Center Skilling Program that has achieved near-100% placement rates, and environmental restoration projects that increase water storage capacity through lake restoration and farm pond construction.

Primary school, Peddaveedu: Addressing Critical Infrastructure Gaps

The new facility has the capacity of 200+ students and a bigger play area for the community. The previous school facilities were located 1 km from the village, creating safety and accessibility concerns for young children. The existing buildings suffered from severe deterioration, crumbling walls, damaged flooring, and roof leaks that made structures unusable during monsoon seasons. The new facilities are now located within the village premises, eliminating daily travel risks and providing a safe, modern learning environment.

The Primary School features 5 new classrooms, an administrative room, and a toilet block. A playground with age-appropriate equipment provides space for physical activity and play. The facility includes a dining hall to support student nutrition and a compound wall for safety and security. Solar electricity ensures sustainable power supply, while a digital library and computer facilities help bridge the digital divide and prepare students for future opportunities.

The Pre-Primary Center features a dedicated learning space, a fully functional kitchen with storage facilities, a toilet block, and a play area with play equipment. Both facilities feature colorful murals created by Amazon volunteers and students, making the spaces engaging and fun for learning.
